Planning to get a service done and wonder when is the best time to schedule your appointment? Please view the following below so you can plan ahead accordingly! The below information applies to all brow services and lip blush.
PRECARE Information
DO come in with your brows already filled in so I have a better idea of how you’d like your brows to be.
For Lips Only:
If you recently gotten lip filler or plan to, appointments MUST be made at least 4 weeks apart from each other.
I personally recommend waiting 6 weeks if you plan on getting any lip injections after our lip blush session to allow the pigment to fully bloom and you can see full result of our lip blush appointment.
DO bring your favorite lip color to our appointment so I have a better idea of what colors you like to wear on the daily! DO NOT apply makeup on your lips however.
FOR BEST RESULTS:
- DO keep lips moisturized with your favorite moisturizing lip product + stay HYDRATED by drinking plenty of water. These go hand in hand for best results during our appointment. Your lips can still dry out mid-appointment if you do not stay hydrated even if lips are moisturized!
- Exfoliate lips gently with a washcloth or lip scrub every other day for at least 5 days prior to our appointment. I cannot work over dry, peeling lips. Needle will tug and tear your skin. If you come in with unworkable lips, you will be sent home with your deposit forfeited.
- These above steps are crucial for a beautiful and EVEN healed results as needle cannot penetrate dry skin.
24 Hours before our appointment, DO NOT:
Workout or any intensive exercises. Increased blood flow to your face will make brows prone to swelling. Even if you are not actively perspiring, salt is present under the skin = poor retention.
Do not consume marijuana / THC. It increases sensitivity and you are less likely to numb from the topical anesthetic.
Smoke or vape nicotine. It increases blood flow leading to bleeding and sensitivity. Smokers also tend to have poor retention.
2 - 3 Days before our appointment, DO NOT:
Intake any form of caffeine and alcohol. This includes coffee, tea, boba, energy drinks, fat burners etc. These are blood thinners and will increase bleeding and sensitivity to pain. Bleeding will cause poor retention as it pushes out pigment while we try to implant it.
Take any Aspirin, Ibuprofen or blood thinning medications unless medically necessary. Tylenol is fine.
2 Weeks before our appointment, DO NOT:
Take any supplements such as Fish Oil, Vitamin E or any herbal extracts (Gingko Nut). These specifically increase swelling and bleeding.
Wax, thread, pluck your brows. Please let your brows grow out if possible so I can see where your natural hair flow when mapping your brows.
No lamination or brow tinting.
Avoid prolonged sun exposure and tanning.
Get any facials or chemical peels.
1 Month prior to our appointment:
Discontinue any glycolic acid, Retin-A, retinol products, tretinoin or any exfoliating skincare products close to the treated area (brows + lips).
If you’ve had any cosmetic surgical procedures done on the face area, please wait 2 Months to fully heal. This includes Botox, PDO threadlifts etc.
If there are any open wounds, pimples, bruises, or any other skin irritations on the area; please wait for them to be completely healed before attending the scheduled appointment.
Please contact immediately if rescheduling is necessary due to this matter.
AFTERCARE Information
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning on treated area. It will affect your healed results.
Avoid water/steam/moisture. This includes hot steamy showers, swimming, sauna, hot tubs etc.
Sleeping on face, rubbing, picking or scratching the treated area. Be careful when removing articles of clothing over your head.
Avoid exercising until scabs are gone. Try to keep cool as possible.
Avoid skincare and makeup on brows until week 4.
No facials, botox, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
For long term care: Apply sunscreen after brows have peeled to keep color fresh & prevent fading. For lips, use a lipbalm that contains SPF. UV rays deteriorate pigment and cause them to break down faster to be metabolized by the body. Avoid chemical exfoliants, laser treatments & direct sun exposure on brows and lips. Please inform your technician of your cosmetic tattoo if you receive any facial treatment in the future once your brows have fully healed.
